My name is Christian Choi and I am a Leonia resident and a senior at Bergen Catholic High School.   I am proud to say that I am now an Eagle Scout with Leonia's Scouts BSA Troop 71.

I started the Leonia Veteran Banners Program as part of the my Eagle  Scout project. In December 2023  My goal was to create memorial veteran portrait banners to display throughout Leonia.   I felt that it was important to honor our veterans, those who served and sacrificed so much for the freedoms that we enjoy.  For Memorial Day 2024, the program was successful in producing 57 banners.  For Veterans Day 2024, an additional 22 banners were produced.  This project was 100% community funded and the community came out strong.  I am proud to report that the project generated over $20,000 in contributions and produced a total of 79 banners.     

The Banners are going up and being installed now for Veterans Day - November 11, 2024.

Although the window for submitting a veteran’s banner information is presently closed, there will be additional opportunities in the future.
